A.M. Spencer, III, DVM

Dr. Spencer is originally from Gastonia, North Carolina. He attended his first 3 years of college at North Carolina State University and then gained early acceptance into the veterinary school of Georgia. He graduated from both North Carolina State University with a degree in Biology and the University of Georgia with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1973. He has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1973 at Dickson Animal Clinic.

Richard L. Hovis, DVM

Dr. Hovis is originally from Lowell, North Carolina. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1985 in Zoology. He then attended North Carolina State University and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. His first year was spent practicing in Charlotte, North Carolina before joining the Dickson Animal Clinic team in 1990. He has been past president of the Southern Piedmont Veterinary Medical Association and is currently helping with the Gaston County Animal Control Task Force.

Kristen Levine, DVM

Dr. Levine is originally from east central Indiana. She received her Bachelors Degree from Miami University. She then spent three years at the University of Cincinnati Department of Environmental Health as a research technician before attending veterinary school. In 1996 she graduated with honors from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, St. Kitts, West Indies. She practiced in upstate New York and northeastern Ohio before relocating to this area with her husband who is also a veterinarian. She currently is a mother of two young children, practicing veterinary medicine, and a faculty member of the Gaston College Veterinary Technology Program. She has been with Dickson Animal Clinic since June 1998.

Amy Sanderson, DVM

Dr. Sanderson is originally from Virginia, and received a Bachelors of Science in Biology from The University of Virginia in 1982. She pursued graduate studies in microbiology at Virginia Commonwealth University, then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 from the Virginia- Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. She has practiced with Dickson Animal Clinic since 1988.
